Stacked & Saucy Catering Brand Logo

I designed the Stacked & Saucy logo system in Adobe Illustrator, starting with quick sketches to explore how the brand’s personality—warm, bold, and food-forward—could translate into simple, flexible marks. Because food businesses often need branding applied in many small touchpoints (menus, labels, carts, packaging, section headers, etc.), I built a mini logo suite instead of a single lockup.

The final system includes multiple logomarks built around the “S&S” monogram and a stylized fork. Each variation maintains the same visual language but gives the client options depending on the layout or application. This approach keeps the brand consistent while giving her practical flexibility for everything from digital menus to printed labels and social graphics.

Tonia Greer of Stacked & Saucy came to me with an early logo concept created by someone else, but it didn’t feel aligned with the brand she was building. Her food—hand-layered lasagnas, saucy baked wings, and fresh salads—is rich, warm, and crafted with care, and we needed an identity that reflected that. I started by talking through what she liked and didn’t like about the original design, then researched visual cues common in comfort-food and catering brands. From there, I explored color palettes that avoided unappetizing tones like green and yellow and instead leaned into warm reds and oranges that echo baked dishes and bold sauces. I also recommended keeping the DBA name, “Stacked & Saucy,” as the primary brand mark, using the full LLC only in legal areas like the footer to keep the visual identity clean and memorable.

The final logo is simple, modern, and flexible across digital and print touchpoints, while still capturing the handmade, indulgent feel of her food. It established a strong visual foundation for the website, menus, and marketing materials we built afterward.
